First of all, thank you so much for supporting the MSXdev'14. With a number of
10 presented entries that will compete for a prize of
330 euros donated by the community, this edition keeps the spirit of the contest alive and demonstrates that's a place for innovation, creativity and fun for every MSX developer out there (hey, and also provides new games for the users too). Overall, another nice experience, that comes to its final phase.
Anyway this time we feel that we prolly haven't explained the new extended deadline for fixing entries: it was expected to be used for
little bugfixes or last time compatibility issues, but it is not stated that well into the rules. That's why entries such as CMJN or Nayade Resistance have been accepted
for now: I hope this upcoming week will help developers to finetune their entries or, in some cases, complete them, as it is clearly stated in the rules that
"[...] only complete games will be accepted: beta-versions, demos or “to be finished” games will not be included in the contest.". This means: dudes, you have an oportunity to finish your game during this week due to the new second deadline, do not waste it because uncompleted games won't be accepted.
Also, some english instructions are mandatory, as the rules state in this point:
"Besides this, all the games must be accompanied by the required game instructions written in English.". This means that, if your entry is a plain .ROM file, you must create an instruction file with the game manual in english. No matter its quality, but it is a must, and some entries need to be updated with their instructions. So, again: use this week to fix your games, but also be sure to create and upload an english instruction manual for the game, as
it is a must for every entry to be accepted.
Well, now you are aware of everything, it is time to
close the user registration in the community and wait for the
final deadline for fixed versions of previously submitted entries (that is 22/06/2014 11.59GMT+1).
Let's re-check the list of presented entries for this edition!
And again, for those that have passed this first filter:
fix/complete your game and/or
provide an instruction manual in english!
Now it is time to play and polish the final versions! next week votes will start and, at the end of the month, the MSXdev'14 will be over! So enjoy the last days of this edition! Long live MSXdev contests, have fun, support the developers and enjoy the games!
