I just read once again CEZ game studio´s  pages about Infinity and in credits part I found this:

MSX
Concept: Na Than Assh Antti
Code: Jon Cortázar (Viejo Archivero)
Graphics: Jon Cortázar y Na Than Assh Antti
Loading screen: Jon Cortázar
Music code & FX: WYZ
Betatesting: CEZ Team
A CEZ Games Studio & Karoshi Corp. production.

Is this a typo, or WAS there either loading or title screen which was not used in MSX conversion?

Anyway... If I can wish one thing... spectrum and amstrad of course have nicely done loading screen in their phantomas saga infinity, and msx version of course don´t need loading, so such screen is not needed, but I still like idea, if next msx conversion could have spec/ams loading screen as title screen... Smiley

as of course it makes game more neat to look at! Smiley

Thought I understand that memory problems can end ideas of making such title screen...

Hay mäsäxi maister! Wellyeah, there is not an MSX loading screen nor I even designed it, so it should be a typo from CEZ GS guys. During the development I thought about hiding somewhere inside the ROM the ZX Spectrum original loading screen in order to access it with a cheat, but finally it was not added. As you've said, as the game is offered as a ROM there is no need of a loading screen at all Wink

Ah yeah, it exists!

Well, this is more a question for the CEZ GS than for me, perhaps they put the spectrum gfx on that cassette version... someone? WYZ?  Smiley

There is a cassette version without loading screen too, only sold during the last MadriSX'07. So, maybe it would say "Main screen" coz you added some nice Graphic FX ( that background scroll hidding some tiles with spritres looks fine).

nice to hear you thought about hiding spectrum loading screen into game, viejo! Wink

What I meant, was that there is not too many MSX games which have  screen 2 picture as title/main  screen... on commodore 64 and amiga it felt nice to watch well done hires picture before title screen appeared. And I don´t mean loading screen, but hires picture which appears after game is loaded or everytime after game over.

Of course there were some msx games which used loading screen as such hires screen before showing text-only-title-screen, like "Jet Bomber". But it´s not exactly the same thing, as you could watch that screen during loading and then it´s not that exciting picture to watch at any more after game is loaded.

I know I know, I was originally talking about ROM cartridge game, not cassette game... Smiley  If there comes another msx conversion from spectrum or amstrad original, it would be nice it has screen2 picture which is graphically something between spectrum/amstrad screen. Smiley

Hopefully you like my wish?! Grin

by the wayzzz...

I read that there was a cheat mode on amstrad infinity, when you typed some letters, hero transformed to original Phantomas 2 / Vampire hero. I wished there could be same like cheat on msx version....  Undecided

Now I found out your patch which does the same trick on msx infinity, thought sadly it doesn´t help much cartridge phantomas´ transformation...  Undecided

What I mean to say, is in the 80s I envied other 8-bit computer owners, as they had so many cheats on their game conversions, like on Spectrum Vampire you just had to type 1, 2 and 3 and you got teleported straight to end game....  of course that didn´t work on msx...  Angry Undecided Cry

Maybe now is the time to give nice little cheats to msx owning game players? Smiley

It doesn´t have to be infinite lives, as that spoils game, but something little and nice... like secret door which materializes from nowhere and allow you to do something exciting in that room, or maybe that secret room can be somekinda cheating "shop" where you could get free some much needed thingies or maybe it could be "just" room, which has doorways to different parts of game. Smiley

Or then maybe cheat could allow change colours of hero or baddies, or their shapes.... turning Phantomas to Monty Mole!  Cheesy maybe background colour control would be funny in some cases...? Or cheat which gives weird style in-game light  synthesizer...?

Naah... use your OWN imagination!!  Cheesy

For example, in Malaika, when you finish the game, you get a hint of how to do a certain cheat, that unlocks something that's hidden Wink, and if you run in your MSX our cartrisge Griel's Quest for the Sangraal in a certain way, you'll find hidden things too. Cheesy
