How about these?

Both were my favourite games and I still play both sometimes.

But they are another nice MSX games which lack moody in-game music (again!) and I always wished for some sprites to color up Jack The Nipper´s software sprites...  and why the hell they didn´t used any sprites in Krak-Out?! (answer: lazyness and greediness...) Imagine Krak-out in SCREEN 2!!!  Original MSX Krak-Out! is very quiet game except "pings" of ball hitting the walls and quiet "crash" when Jack The Nipper-head dies and some others... Imagine there could be new tune for each screen!!!!! Commodore Krak-Out has MANY ingame tunes comparing to MSX´s NONE! (Gremlin did it once again...)  And Jack the Nipper is even quieter..... Angry

Both games get instantly hellishly better when they get in game music(s)!

Jack The Nipper just needs some color spots here and there... (plus sprites too...) Krak-Out needs little more work... by the way... if someone tries commodore Jack The Nipper, there ain´t no in-game music until you find Walkman... Wink

I guess I am not the only one who liked to play nasty little boy in Jack The Nipper when I was a nipper... Grin

What I was thinking about was to give just one sprite for each human´s head to give them skincolor, and that´s it. On commodore, when you shot someone with peashooter, their faces turned RED as they get angry, it was a pity to see there wasn´t such little neat thing on MSX version... they just chased you... little things make great game... imagine boulderdash where rockford doesn´t wink her eyes or can´t tap her feet....

Of course other creatures could have one sprite also...

Imagine Krak-out in SCREEN 2!!!

I did something "long ago" ... i finished the graphics and all the ideas about it were written on paper ... if I just weren't so lazy ... But it's one of my 3 next projects:

Old screen capture (December 2005):

I want to see more, Dioniso!!! Tongue

Krakout is one of my favourite MSX games ever! I reached level 45 on my MSX 17 years ago on my MSX2, but finally two months ago I finished it on blueMSX Wink

I also played Jack the Nipper. The idea of the game was interesting but the game it's a little bit crappy Sad

I'd like to see those games in a "real" MSX version.

Nice to hear someone has thought about making Krak-Out klone! Wink I hope you beat up your laziness soon dioniso and get your krakonia ready! Cheesy

I played through all 100 levels of  Krak-Out! in 1988, as I got it in February 1988 I think. Smiley I think I "finished" it twice... I said "finished" as it loops again to round 1 after screen 100.

Must say it was quite a quiet moment of playing... how I wished for some MUSIC all the time...

Konamito, do you mean Jack The Nipper is graphically bit crappy or do ya mean gameplay needs something to boost it up!?

I think there could be few more nice touches in Jack The Nipper... like more objects to break... Grin Writing to the walls could be nice touch too!!! Cheesy  I always liked to write dirty words to chalkboards in "School Daze" while there were no-one in classes watching what the hell I am doing! Grin And it can´t be too hard thing to add.

Well... there are plenty puzzles easy enough to solve in Jack The Nipper, but then there are objects which are impossible to guess what they are even they all are mentioned in manual...

And yes, Krak-Out!´s title tune is really nice... I still like it much! Hope they would have been sensible enough to pay more to Ben Daglish to convert ALL c64-krakout tunes to AY, and not just title tune....
