Stronger than ever ! Daniel Vik, now in association with Vincent van Dam (fMSX-SDL, CASTools) reveals in an incredible mega-demo the hidden capabilities of the MSX1.

You need to use preferably a MSX1 or a MSX2 computer; to see correctly all the effects in an emulator, run the demo in blueMSX and in openMSX !

It looks like you don't have found the hidden part ... with all the explanations ! When the demo is finished (when you press on the spacebar in the last part), it's only an illusion : press then on F5 Smiley

W-O-W again!
I've missed this one!, great (and hard & time consuming) job guys!. To me, the best cut it's the end full screen animation; maybe technically it's one of the simplest; but the motion engine does the trick and seems really colourfull and dynamic. Love the way it renders the different shades, it remembers me the 4-motion engine! Smiley
More than 2 colors on screen 0?. Let me guess...with some kind of vertical limitation?, seems that you've used some more synch magic again, this time without the 5th sprite! Wink. Now, I'm sure that you can do a scroller and define multiple fonts on the same screen (0, of course)... Grin
Maybe one day we can see some little sources as example of the practical use of 5th sprite trick!,please? Roll Eyes

Again, good work!

P.D.: Have we seen the last from our old MSX1?

Arrrghhh, I'd like these effects in my games!  Grin Terrifying job, dudes!  Cheesy

BlueMSX doesn't work at full framerate on my system so I could see the effect used in the 105 colors animation.It's a great idea!  Cheesy Some day, in my dreams, a snippet could be published and everybody could use that trick!

I think it's better to save a copy of the demo in the HD of the TR we'll use Smiley

I have waited almost twenty years to see someone put something in borders!  Smiley And now, at last, my wish is fulfilled! So it is not sole right of Commodore 64 anymore for having programs which use borders. *sigh*  Smiley

by the way, full screen multi-scrolling colourful pictures were really artistic! ( wants to say they were exactly to my taste!!!!! Grin )

I wonder why no-one has not made anything like 105 colours before on MSX??? Some guy did same style thingy on spectrum, just drawing 3-4 almost same looking pics which do alter a little using speccy´s (or pc´s?) painting program. And that´s it. By the way, he has made LOTS of such pictures, all were fake loading screens of speccy games.

Okay... those spectrum pics did not have 105 colours, but 16 or so... Wink but they looked just like amstrad and c64 versions did look.

Must try demo on real comp someday, as now I don´t know if it is because of bluemsx that those 105 colours pics flickered a bit strangely (I know, they must flicker anyway) and it did not look THAT cool. But I understood what you guys meant. Maybe it will look different on MSX2. Smiley

We are working on a cassette loader for the demo too. I'm not sure if we can have it ready for MadriSX (its next weekend right?) The demo works ok on TR machines too except the border scroller.

And as Viejo_archivero said: MSX1 rule!!! (who ever doubted that Wink )
