Karoshi MSX Community

I totally forgot whole 1K Pong competition and remembered it again in 2006, I started to google around to find those games if there were any and found five from closed proboards page, is there more or was the result "just" five 1K pongs?

I just downloaded them, must test them soon... .. ,  :)

I guess there were six different entries. My pong was updated to the unreleased version 1.34 (just two weeks ago). I will release this version as soon as possible, in the new Buresto Faiya's website.

I completely forgot to put in a complete 1k basic pong too.
I might go back and complete that, tho it was the most perilous spaghetti.  ???

I test played those five yesterday and they all were nicely done games, thought as i played them just myself, "two-player-only" games were bit less enjoyed.. ;)

There were two games which had little bugs in them... I remember BONG was other one (sorry if i remember wrong) as when it asked 1 or 2 players, first letters of that question remainen on screen when playing.. I have a memory that other game did samelike thing...

It´s a Pong with 512 different boards - all packed in less than 1KB -  that you can select randomly pressing the space bar during the game.It´s so cool playing with this one  ;D ;D ;D

i just checked pongs and fifth one was FIFEPONG.

Must download PONG512 next...! Atari, Videopac and other videogame systems "98 variations" pale in comparison.....   :o  :'(

i Really enjoyed it, thought it took some time to understand how I can alter screen, as there is little pause before you can select next screen via spacebar, it confused me and I tried pushing many other keys too...  :D

Wonderful idea! And plays superbly too!

I have of course put files to disk image, but I still am waiting for "The Official Karoshi Frontend For Pong Competition Pongs"  :D So I haven´t programmed frontend  yet to my diskimage...  ;D (loyal fan, you see.. ;))

Was there any judging or are we happy just for we got many great new games? (I am:))

There was no judging at all :), it was some kind of retro-enjoyment-contest with the only reward of come back to life the one and the only game: Pong! ;); oh, and learn a bit of MC or BASIC or whatever you use to implement it.

Do you dare to implement another tiny version of Pong?, come on, it's easy and fun!  ;)

Yes, when you play Pong512 first time it's a little bit confusing to understand the playing mechanism. There are 110 vblanks (minimum) between wall changes. You can change them using the space bar or the joysticks buttons, and (when ball is moving) you can return to BASIC by pressing ESC.

The games will also be available on Passion MSX : I've just added Bong in the MSX Goodies; the other Pong games will follow.

Me too, but the weird bug appears again and I found and correct it. It was a veeeeery strange situation, it appears only twice in 2 years ;D ;D
