Título: MSXdev'06 8th entry and 1st finished game : Operation Wolf Publicado por: mars2000you en 24 de Julio de 2006, 05:41:40 pm In full summer heat, there's no rest for the MSXdev' team as we are proud to present you the first finished game for the 2006 edition of this great contest : a full MSX conversion of a Spectrum game released by Taito in 1987.
Not only this version is better than the poor port made by Ocean in 1988, as it uses all the MSX capabilities, but this version detects also if your machine or emulator has external or internal MSX-MUSIC and can therefore enhance also the musical experience ! Enjoy this conversion made by the TOYBOX team Tip for blueMSX users : add manually the rom file in a cartridge slot and select the 'mirrored rom' mapper type. The game will be added later to the blueMSX database. http://msxdev.msxblue.com Título: Re: MSXdev'06 8th entry and 1st finished game : Operation Wolf Publicado por: Konamito en 24 de Julio de 2006, 08:02:09 pm The server hangs up a lot. Título: Re: MSXdev'06 8th entry and 1st finished game : Operation Wolf Publicado por: mäsäxi en 26 de Julio de 2006, 12:42:40 pm bad news first: must say that toybox´s opwolf has one irritating thing in it. It has plays Very irritating noise when damage level goes high.
then good news: Except that nasty thing, game is really excellent!!!! It looked strange at first to see SPRITES, not just graphical characters... ;) And playability is very good!! hmm... as this is 32Kt game, there should be no problems converting it to cd with new waver? by the way... there is so many years since I played Op wolf arcade last time, so I have to ask, does game really end when you run out of ammunition as it is case in Toybox´s game? I remember in Commodore 64 conversion after you ran out of ammunition, your guy kept searching his socks and arse and every now and then he "found" one more bullet... I can´t see him in title screen! :o Título: Re: MSXdev'06 8th entry and 1st finished game : Operation Wolf Publicado por: JLLopez en 26 de Julio de 2006, 01:57:16 pm bad news first: must say that toybox´s opwolf has one irritating thing in it. This, don't is bad, is a ... perfect port. then good news: Except that nasty thing, game is really excellent!!!! It looked strange at first to see SPRITES, not just graphical characters... ;) And playability is very good!! Playability is really good. :) About sprites, really I'm surprised for this in MSX1! More of 5 sprites in line! hmm... as this is 32Kt game, there should be no problems converting it to cd with new waver? I don't know ... by the way... there is so many years since I played Op wolf arcade last time, so I have to ask, does game really end when you run out of ammunition as it is case in Toybox´s game? I remember in Commodore 64 conversion after you ran out of ammunition, your guy kept searching his socks and arse and every now and then he "found" one more bullet... In ToyBox OW port, if you don't shoot when your bullets are empty, automatic recharge 1 bullet. You can wait for magazine item. :) |
