Karoshi MSX Community

At September the 24th, GuyveR800, founder of The New Image, made a fast trip to Bilbao and, of course, we met there. For a couple of days we had some turistic moments, nice meals and really interesting conversations about MSX development, the actual status of the MSX international scene, etc. It was really fun and enrichment to interchange opinions with such a relevant user, both for his MSX knowledge and for being from a different country than me, a fact that usually reveal different and points of view.

In this thread I'll share some pictures of the meeting. Enjoy!

Sure it is interesting meeting him. Did you talk about TNIasm? I would like to know if he's still working on it, if there'll be something new, etc.

Anyway, I would like to meet so many MSX-related people ... I hope one day we meet on a Ru or, like you and GuyveR800, just on a "casual" trip. Whenever I talk to someone, face to face, about MSX it is always someone who has no idea about MSX ... sad.

Yeah, is really cool to talk with someone about MSX and not feeling like you are an alien or something like this. I hope we can meet too, but don't forget that Darth Vader helmet! :D

About TNIasm, it is still under development afaik, but that's much a question for GuyveR800 than for me ;)

To answer Dioniso, as the TNI Projects page (http://www.tni.nl/projects.html) (which isn't quite up-to-date anymore btw) says, tniASM v1.0 is currently in beta-testing. I'm currently not comfortable with releasing it (for technical and other reasons), but work on the user manual has started nevertheless :)

It has evolved into something unique that can't really be called an assembler anymore. tniASM implements a programming language oriented at creating programming languages in-line. 8)
It's ideal for people experimenting with custom CPUs in FPGA and people that love macros.
Sounds complicated, but it's still just as easy to use as the tniASM v0.xx series! :D
Actually backwards compatibility is not 100% right now, but I'm planning on fixing that.

Anyway, I have lots of projects and this year have had very little time... MSXdev'07 deadline is coming up too :-\

Great to hear that you're still working on tniASM, GuyveR800. Maybe I shouldn't say it in this forum, but your assembler is my favorite and I'm looking forward to the new version.

dvik: you can say whatever you want in this forum ;) ;) ;) ;) ;). In the other hand <advertisement>everyone knows that Karoshi's asMSX is the best assembler around</advertisement>  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
