Título: new sg1000 and colecovision stuff Publicado por: nitrofurano en 02 de Marzo de 2006, 10:53:02 pm I confess i got impressed there are interesting efforts to keep msx1 'twin-brothers' alive as well (sg1000 and colecovision) The meaning point of this thread i got from a competition i think were organized from www.smspower.com I got impressed from a game named s_sniper (for sg1000), even writen in japanese and i couldn't understand at all how to play it, it seems to be easy to port to msx1 (people know asm better than me) Ok this game looks too simple (16kb (which you can crop to 8kb), and rearranging the empty spaces can fit easily into 2kb), but is very enjoyable the development to console systems so close to msx1 like sg1000 and colecovision is still alive, as well our msx1 stuff can have a wider audience there (i think sega Master System (very popular in Brazil that time) can read sg1000 roms, for example... - colecovision got very popular in north-america as well (as so in Japan) ), as well their stuff back to msx1 (running on an msx1 a patched colecovision version of Gyruss were only a start, in my oppinion...) Btw, if more people have more information about this issue, as well porting documentation information (like differences between bios routines, i-o ports, memory address areas, etc...) please make it public to all of us... What concerns the SG-1000 demo that interests you, it can't actually be runned on a real SG-1000, but only on a SMS in SG-1000 compatible mode (I don't remember exactly the reason , I think it's question of I/O ports).
